Dan Dan Noodles, also known as “Dandan or Dandanmian”, are the core ingredient in the traditional Chinese Sichuan recipe of the same name. It typically contains Dan Dan Noodles with a spicy sauce containing preserved vegetables, mustard stem, chilli oil, Sichuan peppercorns, minced pork, and scallions. There are many variations, including serving the noodles dry or as a noodle soup, or a Hong Kong-style regional variety. The noodles themselves are long, thin, and flat. To prepare, add to boiling water for about six to eight minutes or until thoroughly cooked.
